The excitement builds...

OK, so we weren't "expecting" a fourth baby. At least not now. (Not that we were expecting one next year either.) But, nevertheless, we are excited about the new arrival. We held off telling folks about for several weeks. No reason why...just wanted to keep it to ourselves for a while.

But then the looks began. You know, the "is-she-putting-on-weight" look. Then the double take and the thought, "or is it...uh...no, surely not. She must have had one too many holiday dinners."

But now it's out and so is Lynna's belly. She's been liberated to wear bulky shirts, elastic pants and small industrial tarpaulins. She's already loosing her belly button. Funny how that works, really. One day it's catching cracker crumbs in bed, the next day it's barely a noticeable ripple beneath a maternity shirt.

Which brings me to another point of excitement...clothes. Apparently pregnancy is also a great excuse to buy a new wardrobe. Unfortunately, you don't have enough time to really wear the clothes. My suggestion is to buy old clothes, like a nice polyester pants-suit. Tell folks it is the "new little black dress", the "big thing" in maternity wear right now. I mean, by the time they figure out your lying through your teeth, the baby will be here!
