Coming and Going

Harrison is starting to get into a routine...sleep...eat...sleep...burp...sleep...poop...sleep...Well, you get the idea. Lots of folks have called and a few dropped by to say hello to the newest boy in town. The ladies at church held a "table shower" for us, providing a lot of the little things that we had either gotten rid of or just haven't had since Peyton came along 10 years (!!) ago.

Perhaps the most creative was this little boy from Stacie. It's a one-sie stuffed with diapers and even plugged with a pacifier. Thanks to everyone who has helped out, dropped off food or brought something by!

At home and resting

Harrison Cael (rhymes with "Gail") is at home and resting. He arrived in this world 11 minutes beofre 1 a.m. early this morning, July 9th. How he got here is a tale.

We had been to Tyler once already but Lynna's contractions just stopped cold. So, after a couple of hours, we headed home.

Sure enough, things wound up again and soon we were off. Only this time, there was not enough time to make it to the Labor of Love Birth Center in Tyler. So Vicky met us halfway, which wound up being a gas station parking lot north of Tyler.

After a few minutes of slow labor, we decided to make an attempt to drive on in to the birth center.

Harrison had other plans. He wanted out...and out he came about a mile down the road. He was healthy if not happy but rested well as we traveled on to the center.

Thanks to Vicky and her mother as well as Stacey for helping at home before we left. Here (at right) are the first round of picutres, including one from the back seat of our mini-van/brith center.

He's here!

Harrison Cael Chenault was born on Thursday, July 9th, 2009 at 12:49 a.m. He was 8 lbs 13 oz. and 21 in. long. He was born along the side of the highway, but that is another story. We'll tell you more about that soon. Mother and son are at home and doing well.
